Now preparing original work by Doug Wildey, an artist and designer whose command of line, movement, and cinematic staging left a lasting mark on both comics and animation. This presentation considers his work across narrative and production contexts, situating it within the broader history of American illustration and animated design. Best known for conceiving and visually shaping the original Jonny Quest, Wildey also produced exceptional Western and adventure comics distinguished by their atmosphere, draftsmanship, and strong sense of design. This presentation brings together work that reflects the breadth of that achievement, positioning Wildey’s art at the intersection of narrative illustration, animation history, and mid-century American visual culture.
Individual works will be presented as cataloguing is completed, with select material made available for study and acquisition.
