Jack Kirby — Graphite Art Collection

A curated exhibition presented by Frame & Line — Narrative Arts Gallery

Now preparing original work by Jacob Kurtzberg, later known as Jack Kirby, one of the defining figures in twentieth-century comics and visual storytelling. With Joe Simon, he co-created Captain America in 1941. In the Silver Age, his work helped shape much of the visual and narrative language associated with Marvel’s modern mythology through titles and characters linked to the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the X-Men, and Black Panther. His later Fourth World work at DC further confirmed the breadth of that influence.

This exhibition will focus on graphite works by Kirby, with emphasis on drawings that preserve the artist’s hand in its most direct form. Presented without later inking or secondary alteration, these works foreground line, structure, and the underlying mechanics of Kirby’s narrative thinking.
